A very happy festival of lights
Published by manish October 21st, 2006 in My Company.
It’s Deepavali (Diwali) today, India’s biggest festival and as I have been constantly telling our customer contacts in the United States, it’s the Christmas of India. Even as I write fire-crackers are going off everywhere and from my eleventh floor apartment in Gurgaon, the view is breath taking with lights adorning the roof tops and balconies of apartment complexes and malls. So at the outset here is wishing all the readers of this blog and everyone else a very very Happy Diwali from me and all Teknokrats at Tekriti Software.
The Diwali party at Tekriti on Tuesday sure lived up to the excitement and precedent set by the previous parties. The teams put in whatever time they got after work and during the weekends to finalize the scripts and get the skits ready. The winning team (called Avtaars) put up a hilarious show on the modern version of Ramayana.Their story had Sita being kidnapped, her mistaking Hanuman for Superman, and Hanuman carrying Rama’s MMS on his cell-phone to prove he was indeed a missionary of Lord Rama. Of course right after the skits and sumptuous dinner was a long session of dancing where everyone shook a leg to the latest remixed music tracks from Hindi movies. The party rocked and as expected the creativity and talent of the Teknokrats came to the fore. The best publicity was taken by the “It’s Huge” campaign I blogged about in my last post.
I will be updating this post when the video of the winning skit comes online.
Until then Happy Diwali, Happiness Always.
